Updating to New Firmware Found on a Network

When a new firmware is available, you see a notification in your web browser and you can schedule when to update the firmware.

You cannot perform this operation when you log in to Epson Projector Management Connected on a smartphone.

  1. Log in to Epson Projector Management Connected.

  2. Click Firmware Update on the home screen.

When you see a list of update notifications, you can update these projectors.

You can view the release notes and license for the new firmware by clicking the icon in the column.

  3. Select the projector you want to update. You can select multiple projectors or all projectors by selecting checkboxes as necessary.

Depending on your projector, two types of firmware may be listed. Do not remove only one of them or change the order of the firmware update.

If you update only one of them, the functions of your projector are restricted and a message is displayed prompting you to update the firmware when turning on the projector. Check the Firmware Update screen in Epson Projector Management Connected.

  4. Select one of the following methods to update the firmware.

    • Click Start Now to start the firmware update immediately.

    • Click Schedule to schedule the update, and then set the date and time you want to perform the firmware update.

You can check the update schedule by clicking Scheduled on the left side of the screen.

    • Select the time zone correctly to match the region in which you will use the service on the My Account screen.

    • To change the update schedule, select the schedule and click Schedule.

    • To remove the update schedule, select the schedule and click Delete.

    Attention

    Daylight saving time switches automatically.

When daylight saving time starts, the projector control and firmware updates may not be performed, depending on the scheduled settings. Do not set a schedule for a time when daylight saving time switches.

When daylight saving time ends, the display order of the logs acquired when the time switches may be incorrect.

When the firmware update starts, the LED indicator on the projector turns on and the cooling fans run at high speed. When the firmware update is complete, the projector turns off and it enters standby mode.

  • Note that the projector cannot be used during the scheduled update time and must not be turned off during this time.

  • You may need to reconfigure the projector's network settings after updating the firmware since the network settings may be changed by the firmware update process.

  • When scheduling the firmware update, the firmware update behavior differs depending on how you register the projector.

    • When registering a projector using the Epson Projector Connected Agent software, the firmware is updated to the version that was released when setting the schedule.

    • When registering a projector without the Epson Projector Connected Agent software, the firmware is updated to the latest version released at the date and time you set.
